1. About me (Mark Leigh)

I (Mark Leigh) am 58 years old and live with my wife, Joannie, in Morris, Illinois.  I have been interested in alternative health practices since college.  I have exercised for almost all of my life.

My priorities are to feel good, to look and feel strong, and to age as gracefully as possible.  I would like to be able to run fast and to be athletic, but I don’t plan on being involved in competitive athletics. I don’t want to look like a body builder with bulging muscles.

In February 2007, I first became aware of exercise-induced release of human growth hormone while researching ways to improve my cholesterol readings.  Through changing diet and exercise, within a couple of months my cholesterol readings became healthy, I lost weight, and the pain in my right hip (of 3 year’s duration) disappeared.

When younger,  I experimented with vegetarianism, meditation, fasting, and jogging.  My exercise program has changed several times since February 2007.   Currently I usually exercise intensely every day for 10-20 minutes.

I eat more protein (ground turkey, sardines, eggs, and whey) than most people and I try to limit carbohydrates.  I eat substantial quantities of healthy fat from nuts, avocados, eggs, unsweetened coconut, olive oil, sardines, grass-fed beef, and fish oil.  In April 2008, I began following some of the advice in the book, “Natural Hormonal Enhancement”, by Rob Faigin such as limiting carbs at all meals except 2 carb-loading meals per week.

I think that inducing the natural release of growth hormone is a very effective way to improve mental and physical health.

In some ways I feel that I am one of the pioneers in determining how to promote health through the natural release of growth hormone.  Although I am not a scientist or athletic trainer and I don’t have any other credentials, I have experimented with anaerobic exercise, diet, and other protocols since February 2007.  I hope the information in this blog becomes a way to help others receive the benefits of the natural release of growth hormone that I have received; I also hope that readers of this blog will share their experiences by leaving comments or emailing me.  As pioneers, we can help each other.
